Mt. Harris Wind is dedicated to the development of a wind energy project in the towns of Dixmont, Jackson and Thorndike. The project will run along the main ridge between Mt. Harris in Dixmont, through the northwest corner of Jackson, to Files Hill in Thorndike.

Mt. Harris Wind is owned and operated by Maine residents with strong ties to Waldo and southern Penobscot counties. We also developed and continue to be owners in the nearby Beaver Ridge Wind project in Freedom which achieved commercial operation in November 2008.

We have installed two meteorological towers along the ridge to measure wind speed and direction. Our 60 meter meteorological towers have been collecting data since December 2007 on Mt. Harris in Dixmont and since October 2008 on Common Hill in Jackson.

The Mt. Harris wind project will bring a number of significant benefits to the local community, the State ofMaine and the U.S. The benefits include: local tax relief; local construction and ongoing operations and maintenance jobs; cleaner air and water; and improved energy security and independence.

We believe that Maine should produce more energy locally and sustainably through a diverse mix of renewable sources. This will reduce our heavy dependence on fossil fuels and will lower the price all Mainers pay for energy.
