Mt. Harris Wind is dedicated to the development of a wind energy project in the towns of Dixmont, Jackson and Thorndike. The project will run along the main ridge between Mt. Harris in Dixmont, through the northwest corner of Jackson, to Files Hill in Thorndike.

We have measured wind speed and direction at two meteorological towers along the ridge for a period of two years.  Unfortunately, the Mt. Harris Wind project has been suspended indefinitely due to excessively restrictive ordinances in the towns of Dixmont, Jackson and Thorndike.  If you are a resident of these towns and would like to see the economic and environmental benefits of wind power please contact you town officials to inquire about modifying the wind ordinance.
